FAQS - These are some of the frequent questions we are asked about our ranges of lamp holders

Q) Which bulb should I use for my lamp holder
A)  https://kingschandeliers.wordpress.com/2016/07/29/choosing-the-correct-lamp-holder-or-light-bulb/

Q) I have purchased a 10mm threaded lamp holder but it will not fit the 10mm thread on my light fitting
A)  All our lamp holders are a metric thread so if  this does not fit you may have an Imperial thread.

Q) My lamp holder starts to come loose when I remove my light bulb,  how can I stop this from happening?
A) If your lamp holder has a locking nut (we will include this information in the item description) tighten the locking nut and this will resolve this issue.  If your lamp holder does not have a locking nut screw a nut on to the threaded rod and then screw your lamp holder down tight to the nut, when you next need to remove your light bulb the lamp holder will remain firmly in place

Q) I have locked my Edison Screw lamp holder  how do I unlock it?
A)  We have produced a video showing how to  release your lamp holder https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nwf4xBuR4Zw

Q) Which terminal is the live terminal and which is the neutral?
A) As long as the earth cable is wired in correctly to the earthing point which will be indicated by an earth symbol it does not matter which terminal is used for the live and neutral
The first use of the bayonet cap can be traced back to the 13th century, although not with the name "bayonet" but the design, being used to mount candles into candle clocks.  The name bayonet comes from the design being used to affix bayonets to rifles.

The bayonet cap is the now the standard fitting for light bulbs to those countries of the former British Empire including United Kingdom, Australia, India, Ireland and New Zealand.
